...and so are Marcie and Peppermint Patty. Based on how you think they would have developed - emotionally, intellectually, socially - which of the two girls would Charlie be happiest with as a life partner? And why wouldn't his relationship with the other one have worked out?

Naaaaah...Charlie can't get the The Little Red-Headed Girl. She's a symbol of forever unrequited love, the little pain that we all carry. Also, Charlie's head wouldn't be nearly as messed up if he'd ever got her. Thank you, LRHG!

Yep, the Peanuts gang first appeared a long, long time ago. I'm just asking people to assume Charlie is at a more-or-less typical age for a first marriage.

Sorry, this is way off topic, but...don't you think Phil Collins would be perfect to play the grown-up Charlie Brown in a movie? And it's not just the hair...

Marcie would be the better choice. She has the more down to earth supportive personality that would help chuck through his predicted years of therapy.
Part of me still wants to vote for Patty, as she is different in so many ways from Charles, which might enhance their relationship, but I fear the relationship would be doomed, Charles would, at the least, feel threatened by her physical abilitys. Or he may wind up living vicariously through her, and become bitter at the thought that she was everything he could not be. Not a healthy relationship.
I could forsee a scenerio where Chuck and Marci Brown settle down in a quiet suburban section of Newark, raising their 2 kids, and enjoying the occasional visit from 'Aunt' Patty. Chuck would work days as a 'hair stylist' (in his fathers footsteps) at his shop pretensiously named Salon de Charlie', which is exactly like a barber shop except that the shampoo's all have imported names and a 'cut and set' is 3 times the normal price, and yet strangely, people line up, just like Starbucks. In his spare time he helps out at the local boys and girls club, and lectures at the Areospace Museum and Arborists club.
Marcie teaches remedial highschool students (she's had lots of pracical experience) and as a hobby breeds AKC registered pure bread beagle show dogs. (Snoopy not being listed on any of the pedigrees papers, ironically enough.)
Peppermint Patty was scouted by the Little Wingingham Rugby Association in her senior year at school (yes, she made it that far with, Marcie's help ((Which is also why Marcie is so good at her job)), was traded to Liverpool, picked up in her option year by Dartmouth, and currently is signed to a 5 year contract at 300,000 pounds sterling per year. She visits at on average 5 times a year, and positivily adores little Charles Emerson Brown the 3rd, and his little sister, Tiffany.

Peanuts was first drawn in 1950 so that makes Charlie and the girls "baby boomers." Actually, I have always been more fond of Snoopy. He is much more fun than the rest of them put together. But look, maybe Charlie and Pigpen are gay. If so, they ditched the girls and along with Snoopy the beagle they all moved to San Francisco and opened a Pride Store in the Castro District. Just a thought.. that Schultz would not approve of. Just joking folks!

I think that he should marry Peppermint Patty. Not really sure why, except that I like her better than Marcie. Considering how much Patty has come to love Charlie for such a long time, I really think that they would make a beautiful pair.

Charlie Brown is actually 56. Peppermint Patty is straight, she's just in a tomboy phase- and she loves Chuck. Marcie is the lesbian.

Personally, I think Peppermint Patty and Marcie are already in a commited relationship, and Charlie needs to hook up with Linus(maybe he can help him kick that blanket habit!).

No, Charile Brown would have married the little red haired girl who would have grown up to be an aburn haired beauty. She would look past his male pattern baldness and somewhat dreary outlook on life, and together with Snoopy would live happily ever after. Of course since they're all grown up they would now be speaking "wah wah wah".

Let's assume he's a lot younger. He could wait a few years for Lisa Simpson and forget about the other two.
