The Dark Tower series is the absolute best! You have to read them in order. Volume 1 ("The Gunslinger") is a little slow, but you need to read it to understand the rest. Every one gets better & better as you read them. "Insomnia" was also great, as were "The Talisman" and "Black House"

Instead of the books, I would first look at all of his books that have been turned into movies. Then if I liked the movie, I would read the novel, as it would have more insight and detail. Some of his movies include:
1. Thinner (according to him he wrote this book before any of his others)
2. Misery
3. Dreamcathcer
4. Firestarter
5. Christine
6. IT-- (a miniseries)
7. Pet Cemetary 1
8. Delores Claiborne
9. The Dead Zone (Movie and TV series)
10. Carrie
11. Cat's Eye
12. Sleepwalkers
---Just treat the movies as though they were reviews. Cheers.

The Talisman, Black House (read them in that order...BH is a sequel) The Dark Tower Series, Insomnia, Desperation, The Regulators, The Stand, Eyes of the Dragon, and The Shining all stand out. With the exception of 2 books, (Tommyknockers and Dreamcatcher) most of his stuff is worth reading...I just don't personally care for him trying to write aliens into horror.

Depends on what aspect of his books you like. The last Stephen King book I read was called "Needful Things". It's very interesting in the beginning. It's about a small town and a "second-hand" store shopowner comes to town and opens up. Then weird things start happening and there are a gazillion twists in the end. Only bad thing is is that it is one of Stephen King's ghoriest books (in my eyes.)
Also, a NOT so ghorry book is called "Dolores Claiborne". It is very interesting. About a mother and her love for her children and what she does to protect them from their loser father.

DEFINITELY check out The Dark Tower series. You might have to push yourself through the first one but the action really picks up after that.
I also loved Insomnia, Misery, The Long Walk, Rage...and so many others. Stephen King is awesome!!

Read "Thinner". At its first printing in 1984, it was introduced as being written by Richard Bachman. It even had a photo of a balding man on the dustcover. After reading it, I knew it was King novel. Later, it was revealed to have been written by King.

The eyes of the Dragon, he wrote it for his daughter, I read it when I was 12, not horror, and great,
Cujo its just so well written and is a realistic situation pure Stephen Kings horror
There's one that's a series of short stories, "Everything is Eventual" ( the titles are different in Spanish so, sorry if I've changed them)

Hey, I am reading Cell too, i hope i like it too, i am barely starting.
Like one of the guys said, if you liked Cell you will like The Stand, it has a similar context (Earth has gone down the toilet, only a few survivors) pretty cool, and if you like The Stand you will like 'It'. Those two are mammoth novels, but they are good.
In case you are looking for a smaller book then go with Desperation, also good.
Good luck, let us know which one you went for.
