We all say stupid stuff when we are drunk, I don't say anything that extreme, but I think the media has made this a bigger ordeal than what it needed to be. Tons of people get DUI's, and I'm sure they've heard a lot worse!

Yeh, totally, I mean he said what he said and there's nothing any of us can do about it. I really don't see why people are so upset, just because mel gibson was stupid enough to get caught saying something like that when there are a lot more important things going on in the world today.

Yes it is out of control. It is totally insane. The problem is the war in Israel/Lebanon and people are freaked out. If this happened a few years ago, people would be like "oh he was drunk and he didn't mean it the way it came out" --- let's face it - DID ANY OF YOU actually hear him? I didn't. Maybe you did - I don't know. I don't care. The man's been married for 25 years, lots of kids. He had to do SOMETHING right --- I don't believe his heart was against Israel. So, the man got drunk --- dah... let's freak -- it's a first time on the planet THAT has ever happened, huh?

I agree, it's so ridiculous! I know lots of people that get DUI's, and I don't see that plastered all over the news. It's so sad the way our society is so obsessed with fame and money. And maybe he did say something out of line, but this is America and we are all entitled to our own opinions, like it or not. I wish people would stop obsessing over it, and stop giving the media, celebrities, and reality tv so much power... Let's live our own lives!!

the problem is that there is no other news going on, all the celebrities are on a troublemaking hiatus and forgot to tell Mel, so he's the only "news worthy" gossip we have. As soon as someone else acts up..could be as early as today....we'll all forget about Mel and focus on the other newsmaker since we have the attention span of a gnat!

i know, I'm sooooooooo over it. Who cares, really? If some nobody said it, would there be this much of an uproar about it? Me thinks not. Plus mel gibson is so 1989

I'm sure sick of it... I love how the solution to his anti-semitic remarks was "I have a drinking problem" and he was shipped off to rehab. Don't worry, I'm sure it'll blow over soon when someone is hospitalized for a drug overdose or when baby Suri finally appears on the scene...

Yes, but next week it will be something else. He does need help, but its really none of the public's business. Of course he is a celebrity so we eat it up.

I'm done with it. He's homophobic, sexist, and anti-Semetic(and God knows what else!). 'Nuff said, and let's move on. A drunk mind always speaks a sober though. He said it, meant it, and that's it in a nutshell.
