Lots of 13-year-olds don't have their periods yet - it's still the younger end of when girls usually get their first period. And girls don't always get them at the same time their mom did. My mom didn't get her period until she was 18. I got mine when I was 13. My sister got hers when she was 15. I know someone who got hers when she was 10, and I've read about people getting them as young as 8. Everyone's different. Your doctor will probably ask you if you've gotten your period yet every time you go in for a check-up, and he or she will tell you if it's anything to worry about. Anyway, if you still don't have it by the time you're 17 or 18 you might want to see a doctor about it, but I wouldn't worry till then, and you've still got quite a while.

And believe me, you're lucky not to have your period yet. Once you get it, you'll understand why I say that. So enjoy it while it lasts and quit worrying :)

Not at all. Here's an answer from a website womenshealth.gov:

At what age does a girl get her first period?

"Menarche is another name for the beginning of menstruation. In the United States, the average age a girl starts menstruating is 12. However, this does not mean that all girls start at the same age. A girl can begin menstruating anytime between the ages of 8 and 16. Menstruation will not occur until all parts of a girl's reproductive system have matured and are working together."

So you have 3-4 more years before you need to worry about anything.

No, that is not bad at all. I know girls who haven't gotten their period until they were a Freshman/Sophomore in High School. I didn't get mine until i was 14. I was always told how lucky I was. Everybody's body is different. I learned that girls who are more active will get their period later than others. I wouldn't worry about it too much because once it comes, you'll wish it would go away.

your not your mom sweetie and your not your friends don't compare your self to them. every body is different. I would worry if you were a lot older like 16,17 do you play sport or are you active are you on some sort of diet these things can also stop your period starting. But dont be alarmed at 13 years.

I got my period at 14, and my grandma was 16 when she got hers. It is not abnormal to not have your period yet. It is actually better. The more it is prolonged, the earlier it finishes (this is my observation.) Don't worry unless you are past 16 and still don't have it. You should probably see a doctor when that time comes though.

No it's not bad, starting your period if different for each girl, some start as early as 9, others as late as 18. Don't stress.

Besides, the later you start, the better, they are not the most pleasant thing to have, every month. Guys get it so easy

There is no set time to have your period, and there are many disadvantages to having it start early. 13 is perfectly normal for you still to be waiting. It might be unusual for you not to have started by 18, but for now, there is nothing to worry about. Relax, and appreciate the fact that you don't have to look out for this monthly annoyance.
