From what country? Mexico? Colombia? Philippines?

If Mexico, NOTHING. That note was demonetized in 1993 when Mexico knocked three zeros off the peso (1000 old pesos = 1 new peso). Even if it was still valid, it would be 2 new pesos, or about US$0.18

Your question is confusing, but if you are asking about how much 2000 pesos were worth in 1989, this site shows exchange rates from previous moths and years. Sadly they only go back to 1996. Anyone know another site?

Otherwise, I use http://www.xe.com for up to the minute exchange rates.

$182.45, as of right now. They year on the bill doesn't matter, unless it becomes collectable for some reason. Of course, you won't get that, even from a bank. Figure on about $160, maybe less, if you take that in to your local Travelex.
