Why wouldn't you want to use moisturisers? After all, what does that word mean exactly? Yes, you can certainly dry out your face if you wash it too much and strip it of its natural oils which is why you need to put the moisture back in with a face cream. If you're embarrased about a bloke using face cream, well you've just got to see how many men's products are out there now : clarins, biotherm, clinique etc. Men's skin needs looking after, too, so I would recommend any moisturiser after washing. If you're not sure which one, go down to your local drugstore or department store and they'll give you free samples to try out (or get your sis to go if you'd prefer). If you keep on doing what you're doing, your skin is going to become chapped and itchy and that so ain't a good look!!!

You might be using a harsh cleanser or soap, and you might be scrubbing too hard too. You might also wash your face too often. Use a very gentle cleanser for overly dry skin, don't scrub like crazy, and limit yourself to twice a day. You really might want to consider a good light moisturizer too. Over time your skin will improve, but you have to take extra care of it. Drink loads of water, eats lots of fresh fruits and veggies and take vitamins, especially A and E and a B complex. All of these can help skin to be really healthy. You could even try a moisturizing mask (not a drying one or one with alcohol) once a week or so. Good luck!

The sebaceous glands acts as a trap for the imperceptible and the visible perspiration which lubricates the outer layer of the skin.
If there is not enough fat being produced, the perspiration evap -orates too quickly, leaving the skin to dry.

DAY RE-MOISTURIZING OIL '-'NOT A LOTION'-'OR CREAM.

USE OLIVE OIL 4 ounces. Do not use soap of any kind.
10 drops of lavender essential oil.

The oil your skin naturally secretes is removed when you wash your face. You may have chronically dry skin, which you can do little about except constantly moisturize. Drinking more liquids should help, but you really should moisturize.

Drink lots and lots of water. it keeps your skin moisterized and pimple free. if you want to clear your pores just take a hot bath and the steam or hot air would do the trick.
