I think that the bulk of the problem has been plain ignorance.
Remember that although there has been studies about global warming for a few decades it has been relatively recent that scientist has realized the full scope and reality of the problem.
And also there is the clear obstacle that there are very powerful energy related corporations that lobbied the US government to misinformed the public of the dangers of global warming.
But no more. There is definitely the swinging of the pendulum. BUT NOW THE KEY IS FOR EVERY SINGLE ONE OF US TO DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. WE AL CONSUME ENERGY AND PRODUCE CO2 For info on what YOU can do please visit the website at: http://www.climatecrisis.net/takeaction/ Great question! Thank you. Vidura Barrios, NYC

The Earth has had ice ages, they were cooling periods, between them were warming periods. This has been going on for all of Earth’s 4 billion years. This all happened before any of the modern day tech came into being and will continue after we are gone.
The Earth is going through a pole shift right now. A pole shift is when the magnetic poles swap polarities. During pole shifts the magnetosphere is weaker and more of the Sun’s rays strike the Earth, this causes extra heating of the Earths surface, and makes global warming more pronounced.
These are natural cycles of the Earth. We puny stupid humans can no more stop or even reduce a natural cycle of the Earth, than the man in the moon. This is 9th grade science, and one would think that scientists and politicians would be better educated, but it seems that this not so, and they could remember 9th grade science class too.
This may just may be another smoke and mirrors propaganda campaign to cover our governments lies and con games. There are so many conspiracies running rampant it’s hard to tell which are real and which are just simple stupidity. The idea we can stop global warming IS stupidity at it’s highest form.

The difficulty in dealing with the issue of global warming is that it has been politicized by people seeking to use it as an issue to gain or regain political power. Interestingly enough it seems that people who are also interested in bashing Bush are also drawn to using global warming as a tool to continue their bashing. This causes the reasonable reaction among conservatives of discounting the issue as just "hot air". So it is important that the issue be taken out of politics if any progress is to be made on this issue.
There is no doubt that global warming is occurring. That has been adequately demonstrated and scientists are convinced that we are in a warming period.
What is not clear is what percentage of that warming is caused by humans. And it is also not clear what is the best thing for humans to do to counter the global warming.
It will be interesting to see if those who are upset about global warming can mature enough to realize that they cannot solve the problem by turning it into a political issue. That only polarized people. What we need is an approach that is depoliticized and unifying.

Do you really believe there is such a thing as global warming?? Do you REALLY believe that is the thousand of years that volcanos were erupting, CARS have caused more damage than all that?? There is NO way...people need to quit listening to Al Gore...he is an idiot!!
As for what's more important...if we don't take care of the problems we have with terrorists, none of us will be here in a hundred years to have to worry about this so called global warming anyway!!

Well, I think most people will admit there is global warming.....it si the reason for it that people argue with.....there has been global warming about 17 times in the last 1200 years, and believe it or not....we were not at fault then....so how are we at fault now? It is a normal weather cycle, and anyone in the know.....will generally tell you that......I mean meteorologists...not scienctists.....even archeologists can show you proof from some of their digs

You wimps are so damn funny. Where I grew up the average daily summer temperatures were from 110-122 degrees. This is all part of a long term weather cycle just like the ice ages we have on this planet every 10 to 12 thousand years.

Global warming is a democrat issue.. Republicans can not win on that issue. To admit that global warming is a problem substantially helps the democratic party in the upcoming elections. Nothing is more important than winning. They'll discredit the issue every chance they get..

Alot of it, is the ignorance of politicians. Who has time to check
out or do research when you're constantly having parties to
promote your party?
The mere fact that lawyers seem to hold more weight than
scientists is Disturbing.
