I'm turing 18 in March and I'm scared because therre's a war going on in Iraq and I'm afraid I'll get drafted, since I'll be old enough.
I don't want to go to Iraq. I know I won't come home alive if I do. Please give me info. God, I hope the war ends soon. George Bush really isn't making things get better. Instead, he's making things worse.

Arnold Schwartzenegger is a clown. This guy shouldn't be our Governor. He should be acting in movies.

We've got weak politicians. It makes our country look weak.

Why would there be a draft? That just means thousands of inexperienced soldiers. Even if you did go to Iraq how do you know for sure you wouldn't come back? I just had a friend come back from Iraq. Also what does Arnold have to do with anything about the draft. Sounds like you are just ranting on about nothing.

I understand your position. I was in the same position in 1967. I served and as you, I was scared.

But I believe there should be a national draft for both men and women as a mandatory requirement for the following reasons.

1. It is a national obligation as an American.

2. Only people that have been in combat know the horrors and know that war should be the last resort to any problem.

3. It makes all Americans involved in our governments policy making.

I know this is not the popular answer.

Oddly enough the draft would be the best thing that ever happened to you. It would force you to decide whether you would choose to defend your country or live the rest of your life in denial of that responsibility.

Unfortunately you will be able to continue to live in your fantasy land as there is not going to be a draft and those people who are stiring up your silly fears are simply lying to you.

Your governor was elected because the guy he replaced was viewed as a weak politician, and unable to make some hard decisions. Politicians are only as strong as the people who elect them.

Unfortunately, Bush has spread our troops thin and has run them to the ground. But, he's not the topic, I strongly think that every male should serve atleast one tour. We have too many mis- guided young men out there that need to be shown discipline, loyalty, RESPECT and many more strong characteristics that the military instills in people. In my opinion, the draft could only improve a persons life. Everyone should serve theIR country and appreciate there FREEdom. Good Luck-Ur 18, U better register to vote, that way everything u expressed earlier, u can attempt 2 change.YOU HAVE A VOICE NOW, USE IT!!

If George decides to jump into Isreal and help them fight off Syria and Iran, I sure hope there is a draft.. I'd rather see everyone in the country have to face it then just the certain few over and over. Maybe it will teach people the lessons of war...

I think everyone should serve at least 1 two year enlistment. But no, no draft. Most the military are over manned atm. They do however activate reservests.

This up-comming time will be my second time going to middel east.

I hope so , every one should have to serve their country and go through the training . It would also give these kids something to do besides getting into trouble and off the streets . Will help them to grow up and become American Citizens . What's wrong with a little Patriotism .
* ferocious * right on , I couldn't have said it better myself .
