are we going out...help?

OK my boyfriend is the most popular guy in school and im not so popular and the only reason we are going out is because we've been crushing on each other for a while. His freinds hate me and want us to break up bcus they think im not good enough for him.My friends think im too good for him and dont actually believe we're going out since we dont ever go on dates because im not allowed to go out. I havent seen him all summer and when we talk online all we do is fight. We had a real problem last month, so now he cant trust me. I reallly really do like him but he wont believe me and i know he loves me. Hes trying so hard to keep this "relationship" together and doesnt care what anyone says but i dont beleive we're really going out because we dont act like bf-gf.i feel like a horrible gf but i cant tell if we're actually going out. I dont know if i should just break up with him because the way this is going is not good

I'd say stick it out a little longer, if you like how it's going stay with him, if not, break up but stay friends, you have nothing but time, you could always give it another go if you thought you made the wrong decision
