It means adjusted proportionately. Say your monthly bill is $200 per month, but you cancelled your service after 20 days. Instead of paying the full $200, your bill would be "pro-rated" since you'd only be paying part of the month.
You'd only pay 20/31 days worth, or 20/31 * 200 = $129.03.

Pro rating is the term used when a lesser charge is applied to compensate for lesser service.
For example your Sprint bill is is billed by month and the rates charged ar per month. If let's say you cancel call waiting on the fifteenth of the month, your bill should be pro-rated so that you only pay 1/2 of the fee for call waiting for that month.

The term "pro rate" means to rate the number of days remaining in a billing cycle from the date of change..You mentioned spring said they would "pro rate your bill. What they mean is they are going to pro rate (per day) you charges from the first day of the last billing cycle to the date of cancellation date. For example if your bill is normally 100$ for a 30 day billing cycle and there were only 15 days that your phone was active for the last billing cycle the pro rated bill would be approx. 50$

OK, I can't explain it intelligently, lol, but it'll make sense I think.
Example: If there are 30 days in a month & your cell phone was not working for 5 days, then on your bill you will only be charged for 25 days. Hope that helps.

It means they average out the cost per day and you only receive a bill for the days used. For example if you pay $100 a month, but you canceled service on the 20th of the month you only pay for those 20 days.... the cost per day is $3.33 so your bill for 20 days would be only $66.66 instead of $100.
It's prorated so you only pay for the service you received.

It means you will pay a portion of something. Example:
If you pay for something by the month and you cancel before the month is over you will only have to pay for the days you used.
