Why rich western countries send huge of amounts of money to poor African states?

Instead of investing the money into poor white countries : ex-russian states or countries from eastern europe.

It is true that Aids is a pandemic in Africa, and DOES deserve the attention of those who can afford to help. But having observed by living in several major US metropolises, it is apparent that an invisible segment of the population is being ignored.

In the case of America, we are ignoring the homeless on the streets of major US cities, because it is "good politics" and makes better PR coverage to assist other countries instead.

There are no countries poorer than those in Africa, except Haiti. And rich Western Countries do indeed invest in the newly independent states of Europe and they have invited and have accepted them into their European club.

The states you mention, when compared to African states, are very rich. "Rich Western countries" "send money" just means banks lend it to them, with the expectation that they will get paid back. What these countries do with the money is another issue.

The issue here seems to be unfounded resentment of Africans.

I think that the US has sent money to many, many countries, I am not sure about the Eastern Bloc but face it, Africa has many starving people and has suffered major strife - both politically problems and environmental problems resulting in failed crops, more starvation and more political unrest.

Now it seems funny to me, because a friend of mine moans and groans because we have put so much in the middle east, and we ignore the problems in Aftrica completely.

I think there are people like you...who only see what they want to see.

Africa is not only poor, but is suffering more than other country of the AIDS epidemic. I am sure that these other 'white' poor countries get a slice of the pie, we just don't hear about it.

because they dont need it. africa has been for years pillaged by whites for diamonds, gold & even their people (slaves). plus we are all human. does it really matter the color of someone? we all bleed red. The poorest people are in africa. due to waether, droughts & civil war the innocent suffer & that aint right.
