is a very expensive, big, home decoration mirror that i ruined by accident trying to clean a spot with sandpaper.

Craft stores sale the silver repair kits for mirrors. AC Moores or whatever craft store is in your area. Its not expensive to buy the kit either.

If it is not too bad you may be able to polish that spot but it may never be the same again. I just can't believe you would put sandpaper on a mirror or any kind of glass...

If it looks bad try to think of an antique like way to make it so it looks like it should have some damage.

Live and learn. You can't repair it. Depending on the size of the damaged area, you may be able to cover it with a decorative decal. Good luck

You can buy a paste to polish and remove scratches from CD's and DVD's have you tried that? seeing it removes the scratches from such a polished surface as a CD it might just work on a mirror.
