I don't condone shoplifting- it's a crime.

However, I did find some interesting information on the "magnetic strip" that stores use to prevent shoplifting, and I offer this to you just so you can learn how these things work:

If you shoplift and get caught (first offense) that would be "petty theft". If you achieve this same aim by disabling the tracking tab, however, I think you'll find that's a much more serious crime since it couldn't possibly be an "unplanned oversight" on your part, and they will just take you straight to jail, even if it's a $2.00 item.

Get a job!

Simply take the item to the register, pay for it, and let the cashier remove it. way cheaper than jail .
