I went to the 1979 Fa cup final between Arsenal and Man utd and it was a fantastic game.. Arsenal were 2-0 up with a bout four mins left and Man Utd scored twive to level it.. Then Alan Sunderland of Arsenal received a cross from the left and won the cup for Arsenal in the last minute and it was at our end.. What a day to remember..

Hi again, you'll recognize me soon enough mate, just check yer e-mail.
Best I've ever seen : 1971 - Arsenal -Liverpool, I was living in England at the time, bird I was close with got me a ticket to the FA Cup Final at Wimbledon.
I'd been almost a year living in Thorton Heath, England, early in the season with all my English friends having their favorite teams, I picked Arsenal. (liked the little cannons on their shirts and as a "hippie" I liked the outrageously long haired mid-fielder Charlie George.) After picking them as my team they then did almost the impossible, making up about a 10 game deficit to Leeds to beat them out by a tiny fraction of a percentile for the League Championship.
Then after the Championship, they met Liverpool for the FA Cup. Liverpool were the most successful team of that time and were prohibitive favorites!
It was a 1-1 draw after regulation, went into extra time and my man, Charley George from well outside the box launched a missile that gave Arsenal its first ever double. I can still see that shot in my mind today!
What do I consider the best ever FA cup final and the best I ever went to see? Why, one and the same mate, one and the same! 1971 - Arsenal 2, Liverpool 1.

It's not my opinion but I think when Blackpool beat Bolton 4-3 was back in the 40's or 50's is considered to be the best final ever. It was the Stanley Matthews final.
Have never been to an FA cup final yet I'm afraid. Hopefully Spurs will make me proud this year!

Didn't see it but was brought up on an LP of the semis and the final of Everton vs Sheffield Wednesday (I think, certainly Everton) 1966 (or 1965 or 1967 - it was along time ago). Somewhat emotional. Especially the singing of "Abide with Me"). I think someone called Treblecoe/Treblecock was mentioned numerous times. I lost interest the next time Everton were beaten in the FA cup, it's been a blurr ever since.
