because it is... and having noticed, we should get on with making things better, yes?

take a moment and breathe, and count your blessings. are your parents both alive? do you have enough to eat?

then look around you and realize what a magnificent time we live in. i can talk to people all around the world in a moment, and i can see into any library on the face of the earth. and this was never true before.

there are always things we can do better, but i think it is hard to think of what they are when you can only see the pain and horror in the world. it has always had some, and now we live in a world that seems to want to look only at those things. there is something you can do right now to help. you can always add beauty or kindness somewhere.

Young people ask the most complex questions in just a couple words.

Each war is a different creature. It has its own causes and both side usually have some valid arguments against the other. People on some side in the war undoubtedly make large sums or money, gain power, gain fame, gain freedom, and/or spread their religious and/or governmental doctrine.

Pollution is a side effect of human ingenuity, which allows us to live in inhospitable climates and thrive everywhere, with often sedentary lives. Because everyone wants a more comfortable lifestyle energy consumption continues to rise. It is expensive to enact power saving measures and cutting back doesn't get us our new cell phone.

Social problems: Long term marriage is becoming less and less common. This is a side effect of the "enlightment" of the middle ages. You'll find that most legal systems consider marriage a bussiness deal. Well, thats how it always was, when love became its primary reason, expectations grew. Sadly, most people expect too much from their partner, or expect constant excitement. These things are impossible as life becomes more hectic and more consistent; A lack of willingness to expect comfort to come from love rather then excitement. This (and other reasons) cause large numbers of people to be sent to prison. Poverty increases as a result as well. As racism declines, some old pieces still remain. Some may be helpful (the ***** college fund) others that hinder (some cultures value ignorance, laziness, and welfare).

Religious Difference: When people become oppressed, or feel that things are in a "downhill slide", they can become frustrated. This often leads people to forget the tradition of their religion and become "fundamentalists," this results in a very literal and not so scientific interpretation of their religion. It often leads to enmity and abrasive behavior. On the other end of the spectrum the is old hypocrisy and hanging on to outdated teachings. These things drive people to seek something more radical.

Not even close to done...

It's important to accept that these things are part of the human condition. However, we have the capability to change them.

Wars are caused by human nature. When two sides conflict they battle for dominance. You can see it everywhere, even on playgrounds. Pollution is the product of industry. Industry comes before environment.

Because that's the way we "as people" let it become. We create so many problems for ourselves without heeding the warnings and allow ourselves to fall deeper in a hole.

So, why are their Wars? Because people have differences and can find no better way to settle them other than killing eachother

Pollution: People dump their crap everywhere, and don't think about where it's going. Not enough people recycle enough. And not enough research is going to finding a way to change it.
