Don't be worried. I was also worried but then a saw it was no big deal. You will get used to it very soon and you'll notice signs each month before you get it so you will be prepared. When it comes to pain, I have back aches but every girl is different. Just take pain reliever medicine, like motrin or pamprin. I would suggest using pads at first, but then after a couple periods you could try tampons. Remember it is nothing to be scared about. Good Luck!

You will get used to it. It's not that bad. Read up on it in advance, that way you'll know exactely what's going on when it happens. Also, be prepared, because if you get it someplace that isn't your house, you don't want to panic. Books like, The Care and Keeping of You, also give you some tips. Some that I found helpful is, if your out and you get it unexpectedly, you can make a temporary pad out of toilet paper (may seem wierd, but it might help). If it leaks, you can tie a sweater or something around your waist...but make it look fashionable. Hope this helps.

It's a normal part of growing up so try not to be scared. Once you've had a couple of them, it'll be old news and you'll wonder why you were so nervous. You can't stop nature so you might as well accept that it's going to happen.

It would be a lot scarier to never have one because then you'd have to wonder if there was something wrong with you and whether you'd ever be able to have kids.

Don't be scared. It's a natural part of life. My parents even took me out to dinner when I started mine. It doesn't hurt, and it only lasts usually 5 days at a time. Yea, it can be kind of annoying at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes a part of your life you hardly even think about. The only advice I can give you is to keep track of when it starts, because it comes every 28 days and you don't want to be caught by suprise.

don't be. it happens to all of us at some point... i was scared too, but then when it came it was fine - it didn't even hurt! i do get a little cramping / discomfort in my stomach now, but a little motrin / advil takes care of it. also, if you do get cramps, exercise helps :) don't worry about pain though, you probably won't have any and if you do it will be slight and will stay in your stomach (not anywhere else) and will go away quickly.

Get some midol, a hot water bottle and some thin long pads and always be ready for it to hit when you least expect it ( when you are wearing white pants!). You will get through it ok, we all do.

theres nothin to be scared of. It's kind of weird at first but you get used to it. Just use a pad or learn how to use a tampon and you will be fine.
