When that lineup gets completely healthy..........Boston, you're history!!!!!!!! Abreu can hit just about anywhere in that lineup. 3rd is good than A-Rod and Giambi. Wow!!!!!!

He has to bat 3rd. Think about this. Johnny Damon is one of the best lead-off hitters in the game. He can get on base a number of ways. Then Jeter is second in the lineup and he has the second best batting average in the AL. Abreu will come up with at least one man on for his power or a solid base hit. Then A-Rod comes up 4th and we know what he can do. You would then see Jason Giambi batting next and he is notorious for moonshots. And when Sheffield gets back, he will bat sixth while playing 1st base, that lineup has potential to send all 9 batters to the plate every inning. Another argument is that Sheffield should hit 3rd and Abreu sixth. But Abreu has a better average and he is a left handed hitter to complement Jeter and A-Rod surrounding him in the order. Alternating batters on the sides of the plate will kill the pitcher after a couple of innings.

Yeah, that's fine. Abreu third would put a bunch of guys on base for the heart of NY's order.
On the other hand, how about Jeter, Abreu, A-Rod, Giambi?

I love it. He is a great hitter, if Damon and Jitter are on base it is a good chance that Abreu will get them home. Also he can get himself on base so Arod and Giambi can get RBIs.

I was mad he bat fifth that first day. He's much better suited for the 3rd spot and with Giambi batting fifth, Arod stats will zooooom!
Damon
Jeter
Abreu
Arod
Giambino

Yes, wouldn't it make sense to have someone on base all the time for A-rod? You have to pitch to him, otherwise you'll have giambi to deal with, with more men on base.

Second is where I'd put him.
Jeter
Abreu
A-Rod
etc.
Put Damon in the 9th slot.
