The only way to dial from the call log is to use the stylus to select the line then select "dial"

1. Tap the green [call/send] button to bring up the numeric dial pad.
2. Tap the green [call/send] button again to bring up your recently dial phone numbers. Use the navigator pad to highlight the number you want to dial. Then simply press the center button on the navigator button to dial the highlighted number

How about speed dialing? Look in the manual or online to see how to set up a speed dial #. If you still can't do it, e-mail me.

That way, you can just hit "h" and hold it down and you dial "home" for example.

Sure, use DOWN or UP scroll button to choose contact, press the centre navigator buton.
