I don't know if this is a rhetorical question, I will answer anyway, but I suspect you already know. Yes, Chinese businesses exploit their workers on every level, due to the fact that Chinese business is in fact an extension of the Chinese Government. As far as your rights as a worker to the Chinese Government, your rights are non-existent. You as a citizen are in fact property of China and are subject to is will, there is no discrimination laws to speak of and you can and will be judged on basis of sex, religion, political view or sexual orientation, just for starters. You can in fact be jailed for any of those views, among others, that do not coincide with the Government's official stance. In short, how do you exploit someone without any rights?
P.S. To gravefinder, directly above this post. You can also not take the job, quit without notice, move, sue if you are discriminated against, slandered or many other things. None of which is even remotely possible or even considered in a Communist country. Which BTW If I was in one now would be running for my life with my family, who those same governments retaliate against for anything that you do, that they don't like. Since you like to compare the US to communist countries so much go to China and just tell them your true feelings on anything without holding back, then you can say "Been there and done that", which, according to you, is the only way to have an option on the matter. Oh, wait, don't do that because I don't want you to spend the rest of your life in a cage, no matter how much I despise your ignorant, privilaged way of thinking.

As far as American standards they do exploit their workers. But by their own standards, not really. Chinese people are used to working hard hours with little pay. It's the unfortunate consequence of living and working in a communist country.

Why does this matter? It doesn't help the fact that people ARE being exploited. Anyway, the answer is no - you can't possibly assume that all Chinese businesses exploit "more."

I can tell you no. I am doing this from my office right now at a Chinese retail/wholesale company. There are rights, I get my benefits and hey, if I have time to do this on a Thursday, what is there to exploit from me?
If you are talking about overseas, my father has a factory in China. They have lower pay but they get their benefits and vaca.s, holidays, etc.

here in AR, most average workers are paid minimum wage, get NO lunch breaks (law doesn't exist), NO 10 min breaks in 8 hrs of labor (no law again), few if any 'benefits', and can be fired with no cause/no notice/no representation. . . sounds like your 'opinion' of ..... "Chinese workers in communist country"....

From what I have seen in the news, that seems to be true. There are some others that might be as bad, or worse--maybe Bangladesh or Indonesia or Pakistan.
