I know the fundies are all cheering for more war so jesus will come and get their sorry butts.*

Does this affect people in the US directly? Unless they have loved ones in the region, no. There will be no increase in terror attacks unless you count the ones by home-grown white supremacist groups (which most right-wingers consider "harmless fraternity pranks").

This isn't new. This has been going on for centuries, and won't just end with a neatly wrapped up conclusion. That's right...no one group can solve it, and chimpy's administration is uninterested (and clueless) in stopping it. It's one of those things that will have to either be settled by all sides agreeing to give in, with no "winner", or all sides being decimated.

*boy, are THEY gonna be in for a surprise when it turns out the flying spaghetti monster (pbuhna) is real, and has no time for non-pastafarians.

Not by threat of increased terror attacks. if Syria and Iran enter the war, all hell is going to break loose.
If it appears that Israel is loosing the battle, the USA is forced to send either troops, planes or anything that will shift the power balance. This of course will cause a great outrage in the media and world opinion. If this happens you never know if Russia might like to get involved. They will be supplying arms to Syria and Iran. Maybe that's all they will do. This definately has the potential to escalate.

Yes, it is something of grave concern, people will choose up sides and we are on the verge of world war lll, I certainly hope that this does not happen, but when Bush attacked Iraq for no real good reason and this was found out by the rest of the world it opened a can of worms and now it has spread and if not stopped there will be no stopping until the human race is extinct.

Hi,

Many well respected political commentators have been saying for the last 4 or 5 decades that the next large scale global conflict will be caused by tensions in the middle-east.

I think that is exactly what we are seeing.

This is certainly the start of something...

My personal thought is that we, that is the american military should in no way be involved in any area of the middle east conflict. these people have been at war with each other for many generations. this is not a conflict for possession of land or possession of any nature. it is, and has been a conflict of religion. we as americans must not send our armed forces to another country to fight and die for these values. america must defend and protect it's own, and let these people fight it out, and may the best country win,,,

Nope. My own government and the gangs in my city do enough terrorising. One more terrorist isn't gonna change much.
