I've been seeing the news reports on tv, see people and children being killed on the internet and newspapers, but just got bits and pieces of it. Is Hezbollah a terrorist group like Al-qeada? Whats with Lebennon and Israel? Like Marvin Gaye said it best, "What's Going On"?

They are a terrorist group. They get 50 million dollars from Iran every month. They are a shiite group and their followers are poor shiite people in south of Lebanon. With the money they get from Iran they have deceived the poor people and brainwashed many of them. They pay USD 10,000 to the families of the suicide bombers in Lebanon. They tell the suicide bomber that he is going to the Heaven by killing people in buses, markets, and restaurants in Israel. Many of the victims of their terrorist actions have been women and children ( including Arab mulims). When they blow up a restaurant anybody can be there including muslims. They are therefore blind terrorists. They are formed by a mullah of Iran called " Ali Akbar Mohtashami Pour". He was Iran's ambassador to the Syria about 20 years ago ( this is well documented in Iran's media and he is proud of that ).

The Hezbollah (Arabic: حزب الله‎ ḥizbu-llāh[1], meaning Party of God) is a Lebanese Islamist Shi'a organization and political party[2][3], with a military arm and a civilian arm [4]. One of Hezbollah's principal declared aims is to fight the Israeli occupation of Southern Lebanon[5] that lasted until 2000[6] and restarted July 12, 2006 when Israel again invaded Lebanon, this time in response to a Hizbullah raid on Israeli territory, in which two soldiers were captured and three were killed.[7] Hezbollah is currently led by its Secretary General, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah.

Where have you been for the last 60 years?

The war around Israel has been going on, off and on, since before there was an Israel. Back in 1940s, Jewish terrorists bombed British colonial authorities in Palestine until the British withdrew (one of the terrorist leaders, Menahem Begin, eventually became Prime Minister).

In 1949, the United Nations mandated the formation of two independent states in Palestine, one Jewish, one Arab. Only the Jewish one, the state of Israel, was actually formed. The Arabs of Palestine (both Muslim and Christian) became its second-class citizens. Some stayed and were treated badly (water rights in the countryside is a particularly sore topic), some left and now live all over Middle East; some have gone as fas ar Britain and Sweden. So the Arabs feel cheated and want their country back, but the Israelis insist that since there never was a country, there's no reason to give anything back. Everything is being made more complicated by the fact that there are now two generations of Israelis born on contested lands, so they feel the land is theirs.

And so it goes, with no end in sight...

Hezbollah is specifically a terrorist organization, like Hamas and Fatah, that is dedicated to the elimination of Israel. They have been in Lebanon for awhile and are funded and supported by Syria, and Iran in particular.

Israel has been dealing with these kinds of things every since it was established. Hezbollah has given trouble before, and the latest thing was a raid into Israel and the kidnapping of a couple of soldiers. Which was a kind of "last straw" for Israel, and Israel became determined to rid the southern Lebanon of Hezbollah to end this sort of thing.

Hezbollah, of course, has used the time it has been there to tuck itself in amongst the civilian population, not only to get their support, but also to use them as shields against military retaliation.

Now with the Israeli offensive against Hezzies, their supporters are pissed and of course they all rant about the collateral damage, without mentioning either their own actions against Israel or their penchant for using the people they hide amongst so as to be sure there will be collateral damage to complain about.

Hesbollah is a terrorist group in most part supplied and controled by Iran. They have terrorists in many places, but have alot in Lebanon. Lebaon was ordered a few years ago to rid thier nation of Hezbollah but have failed to do so, mostly because thier army is too weak and they don't have any way to do it,without the mass killing also.

hesbollah attacked Isreal and kidnapped a couple of thier soldiers, they often do this in the past, and expected an exchange of prisoners, but this time isreal basicly said enough was enough and went in after thier soldier and has decided to chase Hezbollah out of Lebanon thierself.

The hezbollah, hide underground often and also shoot rockets from children playgrounds, from apartment buildings, from schools and hosptials, even next to UN outposts. and UN does nothing about it.

So to destroy them, Isreal has no choice but to attack into residental area.

Why is there war going on in Israel?

Well, the tv shows are boring because they're all summer reruns. We didn't have anything else to do, so let's start a war -- at least till the new shows start in the fall.
