When is the harvest time for damsons?

Late August and September in the UK. You are best finding a local grower or someone in a Farmers' Market, if you can, otherwise you will pay over the odds in Sainsbury's or Waitrose.

Next month you should find plenty on markets stalls or in the shops. I made some damson jam last year, which was okay, but I forgot that they have a high pectin content and added far too much sugar. I like my damson jam to have an element of tartiness about it.

I have never been able to buy damsons in Scotland but managed to get some whilst visiting Blackpool last year.

I have loads of damson trees on my ranch in Poland.
I reckon two more weeks and they will be ripe.
UK is normally a couple weeks ahead of us
Weather is so crazy that it could be anytime anywhere

Hi there. Don't spend your money, there is an abundance of all hedgerow fruit at the moment. Just pick it and enjoy.
