depends on the operating system. Some people never install their administrator password with windows XP so you can just press ctrl + alt + del twice, type administrator as the username and leave the password blank.
to bypass win98 password just press escape when promted for password.
to bypass win95 password screen is to boot into dos and delete all .pwl files from your hard drive. reboot and after insuring that both the name and the password fields are blank, click okay at the windows password prompt
If its a CMOS password, take out the motherboard battery, disconnect the power to the back of your pc. I usaully press the on button just to make sure theres no power on the box.
ok, put back the batt, plug in your pc, your CMOS password should be reset..
Good luck

not easy to do, you don't know any user name or password for this computer? Any chance you remember the adminstrator password? sometimes left blank. on the welcome screen press "ctrl-alt-del" usually 2 times, then it will change and you will have to manually enter the username and password, type in "administrator" and enter the password for that account, if you have no password on that account, then leave password blank and hit enter, then change the password on the user account to one that you will remember. beyond that, you may be forced to reinstall windows if you don't remember the password, but you would need your product key for that and would lose all your docuements, programs etc. bring it to a local technician store if this doesn't help that way they can confirm it is your computer and help you to access your account.

When at the welcome screen, press CTRL-ALT-DEL twice. This will bring up the login screen were you can type a user name and password in.
This is supposed to work well. Once in, you can go to the User Accounts in Control Panel and see the accounts and you then change the account to suit yourself.

You still need password from safe mode. One other option is to reload the operating system from system disk.
