Someone told me you can tell if you're finished growing in height by whether or not you can touch your toes? If this is false, does anyone know if the average 14- to 15-year-old girl would still be growing?

Nope, and nope. you're finished growing when the fat lady sings, and if you can touch your toes - without bending your knees - then you are flexible. The average 14 - 15 year-old girl will still grow a little, but for most, the "growth spurt" is over. Mostly that's based on individual genetics.

PS: my feet "grew" with each pregnancy - the last long after age 30!

Definitely false. I don't know who told you this, but they obviously haven't seen kids touching their toes!

Girls grow until approximately 17 years old. A friend of mine was told by her doctor that she wasn't going to grow any taller after he'd seen an xray of her wrist, which showed that the bones had grown together showing that she couldn't grow anymore.

You touch your toes in PE in elementary school. I believe you can touch your toes at any age, if you are flexible enough, whether or not you are still growing.

Heighth cannot be pre-determined. You can guess, based on the heighth of both of your parents, but that is not an absolute indicator.

Not true at all. As for when you will stop growing the best you can do is have a doctor X-ray your joints and measure the gaps. This is not perfect but it can give some indication. The easiest way to find out however is find out when your older female relatives stopped growing.

NO. You are more likely to be able to touch your toes when you're young, because young people are more flexible. But flexible adults are able to touch their toes. Find an adult who's been doing yoga for a few years!
