The above answer is only the advancement of propaganda. Ahmadinejad only said that the Zionist government must be dismantled.
If that entails destruction then Westerners committed genocide when they demanded the dismantling of Nazi Germany, and Northern citizens of the US did the same when they protested against Jim Crow laws.
When someone says that a government is illegitimate, and "Yahoo!" reports it as "[] wants to destroy []", be a legitimate HUMAN and think about what you would say if they reported that you wanted to "destroy" Iraq for a "regime change".

The United Nations partitoned Palestine in 1947 into an arab and a jewish nation, living peacfully side by side.
As soon as the arab and muslim nations recognize israels right to exist, within safe and secure borders, peace will return to the middle east.

No...the arab community looks at israel as a illegal state because it was carved out of existing states (transjordan and palestine) You would feel the same way if the international community came in and established a new country without your consent on your existing land...

No chance. They don't hate any one thing about the Israelis, they hate their very existence and intend to wipe them out. If and when they do, they'll continue on to the rest of the world, especially everybody's scapegoat for all of the world's problems, the good old USA.
