Flowers, save your money.
Test your computer to see if it WILL run Sims 2
Go here and in the black drop down box, run the test for The Sims 2 - the results will tell you if your machine can run the Sims and what it really needs.

If it passes at the lowest setting, that is not good news at all. It can mean each new screen can take a minute to load and you may have crashes.
Don't buy RAM for a machine that isn't going to be able to run the game well anyway - Chances are it will need a better video card than you have and it will tend to run too hot on a laptop. The money you save can be put forward to an overall better machine that is on sale.

Well, first of all, you're going to need more than just a memory upgrade. This sounds like an older laptop so ummmm, yeah moving on, it doesn't sound like you're going to be able to play it on your laptop because you need a dedicated graphics card. And if you don't have one that is T&L compliant then you need the following specs:
2.0 GHz processor
256 MB RAM if Windows XP
128 MB RAM if Windows 98, Windows ME, or Windows 2000
At least 3.5 gigs of free hard drive space
Even if you meet the memory requirements and the operating system requirements, my bet is your processor isn't up to par and assuming you even have a dedicated graphics card in your laptop (which I am not betting on) you still won't be able to play the game.
I don't know what to tell you. Ummmm, don't play the game... get a desktop (or find a desktop) capable of playing it or replace your laptop with something that can actually play the game. Note, you can't upgrade your laptop to a point of being able to play this game, that I am sure of.

Go to the company that makes it's website, and find your model. Then look around and you should be able to find memory for your model. Be careful you choose the right kind, or it won't work.
You currently have about 256MB(it doesn't show all of it) so you would want to get another 256MB module. When you get the ram, it should have an instruction manuel to show how to install it.
Don't buy it from a shop because they probably won't have the right kind, and try to sell you some crap that isn't compatible.

Adding RAM to a laptop is not that simple.
Yes you probably should go to a shop and get advice first.
Because of the size of the laptop the memory is not just slotted in as it is on normal computers.

visit crucial.com on your laptop and they will scan your laptop and tell you what memory is installed as your showing 192 in means that you have 256 installed the rest is used for your graphics so should be able to upgrade they will recommend the best and they are reasonably priced
as to installing it would depend on the laptop you have as the memory could be in about half a dozen places I would recommend a computer engineer for this
I upgraded mine and it it hadn't been for a engineer showing me I would never have found where to put it
It was under the keyboard what hard work till he showed me how to remove the keyboard I went with a 1 gig upgrade so I wouldn't have to do it again

Go to Crucial.com and use their tool to find the correct memory for your computer. Then you copy down that info and you can buy the memory from them, or from somewhere else. You will be looking for SODIMM memory for your laptop. The sticks are about half as long as the sticks used in desktop computers. Consult your owners manual for the proper installation procedure.

lol "i am a woman after all!". installing new ram is quite simple, but you might want to go to geek squad, or call them up to have them install more ram. you can probably get a 128mb module for about $30. go on ebay, and type in your computer name, plus the word RAM, or memory.
to install it your self, just open up your case, and locate the RAM holders. push the ram in, and clip the clips down on it. and you're good to go!
