Sometimes I really prefer to keep to myself when at work. I'm a very friendly person and will talk to anyone I meet, I never get nervous for that. I like socializing, but the older I get, the more I want to spend in my own little "world" (if that's what you want to call it). It kinda makes me feel weird cause I have this expectation from everyone to be the outgoing person I once was. I am happy the wya I am right now and don't want to change it. In fact, I love being in my own little "world". I'm very imaginative and day dream a lot. I'm NOT depressed and am in love with life. I'm so thankful everyday I am alive. I'm a very optimistic person. It is weird that the older I got, the less extroverted I am? I feel like I have to live up to that and I don't want to...what advice could you give for me?

There is nothing wrong with what you're describing. Have you noticed that your taste in food has changed since you were younger? This is similar.

As we age, we change in response to our experiences. If this is the "new" you, people will get used to it in time.

It's OK to do things apart from your boyfriend, too. Apart time is as important as together time.

I think it depends a lot on how serious you are with your life in general. From my personal experience with out going people, I have noticed they are little less serious about the life and they always spend more times with friends than own family and spends money quite unnecessarily which is not right. They are rather too careless about what's happening around the family and job etc. Nothing is wrong with you. This happens with everyone due to age factor and that is fine as long as you doing good professionally and don't suffer from depression or stuff like that. Enjoy your space.

You sound pretty normal to me. I had a professor I loved in college who used to say that every healthy person in the world needs three kinds of time: Group/Friend/Family time, Couple time and Alone time. I found that very liberating that it was completly normal and healthy to be alone once in a while even when you love the people your around!

the older you get, the more you'll realize, most people are incredibly stupid. I'm not kidding. There is a serious pack mentality that people have that seems to be ineradicable. Live your life the way that pleases you.

for most of us, i think as we get older, we mellow out. just accept it, enjoy your life. if this is what you want. go for it.
