I really can't understand why the Us is prolonging a war, whereas the rest of the diplomatic communisty would like a ceasefire and cessation of hostilities. Why are they prolonging the continued destruction of Lebanese infrastructure which will take decades to rebuild what sadistic pleasure and amusement are they gaining from this. What are your thoughts on this issue of the US's continued backing of continued death and misery on both sieds but mostly Lebanese.

who says i'm supporting hezbollah, whereas AH Ha's extremist and rather biases views himself makes him believe that who ever presents an unbiased view on the issue is seen as supporting Hezbollah, he is following Bush's doctrine "either you are with the terrorists or us", what an extremist.

It's not an "Israel-Lebanon" war. It's an Israel-Hezbollah war. The US is not prolonging it. Israel and the US would be happy if Hezbollah could have been wiped out in 5 minutes, but it will take more time than that. The way to prolong this war is to demand an immediate cease fire so that Hezbollah can regroup and acquire more Katyusha rockets from Syria and Iran. Hezbollah purposely targets innocent civilians in Israel and uses innocent civilians as shields in Lebanon. Though it has the power, Israel chooses not to use a scorched-earth method of war and attempts to minimize civilian casualties. The goal of war is not to finish as quick as possible but to win. The quickest way to end this war is for Hezbollah to disarm. The longer route is for Israel to destroy Hezbollah.

I just love the way the U.S. is responsible for every damn thing that happens in this world. Last time I checked, the war was between Israel and Hezbollah terrorists. The Lebanese people are suffering because the Lebanese government have allowed terrorists to set up operations amongst the Lebeanese civilians. Perhaps they should have done something about that before Israel attacked.

In a civilized situation a cease-fire would make sense. In Lebanon there is no organized army that will return its tanks to bases while peace is negotiated. In this case, you have an uncivilized enemy that wants the destruction of another country (based on their religion alone). What good would a cease-fire do? Israel needs to put as much pressure as possible on the UN and Lebanon to take meaningful action - as opposed to a toothless security force. That will only happen if the military action continue so that the enemy is not allowed to regroup as they did after Israel pulled out of Lebanon (which the last UN resolution was supposed to address but didn't). Hitting infrastructure will at least slow down the resupply of the terrorists by Syria and Iran. While it hurts the Lebanese, they have let that organization survive despite a clearly stated philosophy of hate- hate has a price. They are paying that price now- and it's very sad how many innocents are caught up in it- but much in the way many German citizens died because of Allied bombings, they stood by and wasted the rise of the Nazis- and such amoral indifference has its price.

The Lebanese should, to paraphrase a famous statement, love their children (and peace) more than they hate the Jews and not tolerate such organizations in their midst. Peace is as simple as merely being indifferent to Israel who would want only to live in peace if they could focus on doing so.

The USA has nothing to do with the war in Lebanon. It is the Hezbollah Islamio-Fascist PIGS who are prolonging the war in
Lebanon with the help and arms support of Iran and Syria. Blame the right people next time.

If a quick ceasefire takes place nothing will change. The White House is sticking to it's guns in hopes that the Israelis can push Hezbollah north, hold that ground, and have an International Force move in and make sure Hezbollah does not return to the boarder and once again threaten/terrorize Israeli civilians.

I guess the US is prolonging it because Hezbollah and Israel just weren't trying hard enough and need to practice.

The Israeli casualties would be much higher if they didn;t have lots of bomb shelters - Hezbollah are firing BIG, unguided missiles into Israel at a very high rate, you know - Katyushas aren't bottle rockets

It is as simple as this, they want all of Hezbollah destroyed because they are terrorists and they are supposedly involved with Iran

It seem that we are damned if we do damned if we don't. We get involved in Iraq and we are told we should have stayed out. We stay out of Lebanon war and now we should be involved which is it?
