Does anyone have any feedback, negitive or postive about Pay Pal? I'm thinking of using it to buy something off the net and I want to make sure it's secure.

Yes. The only danger in PayPal is if you give away your password. This can happen when you are sent fake email that really looks like it is from PayPal. You follow a link that really looks like you are on PayPal's website, but it's not. Then you login and the form sends your password to an ID theft, you are then forwarded to the PayPal site.

FAKE URL might look like this: http://www.paypal.secure.payment.lorettoboy.com/login.php?dkfjs=dlwkejk

Always type in paypal's address yourself.

IF YOU SELL: If you have a business account, be sure you understand the risks of accepting credit cards. You must return ALL fraudulent charges.

Pay Pal is great. I have always had excellent experiences with pay pal. You do have to watch for fake emails. They make them look like they are coming from pay pal. Pay pal always addresses you by name. Always access your account from your bookmark and you should not have a problem.

And if you have a problem with the seller and require a refund they are very helpful with that also. It takes about 30 days. But I have only used this service once.

It's as safe as your going to get on the internet. Just be careful of fakes. Since I got an account, I've had a lot of emails from fake Pay Pals.... they send info that looks exactly like it comes from the real Pay Pal. Pay Pal will always use your name in correspondance. If they don't it's a scam. Good luck on your purchase.

here is how paypal works:

you enter your credit card or bank info into paypal: paypal charges that amount, and send it to the person selling you some thing. so only paypal knows your info, since paypal is sending the seller money directly, not you.

i like it because they give you credit cards, debit cards, and you can use your paypal balance to buy stocks from paypal.

it can some times be bad because if some thing you buy is broken, you can usually get refunded, but some times you will only get partially refunded, or not refunded at all. but paypal will do it's best to get you as much $$ back as they can.

hope this helps you make a decision in using paypal.

Very secure. About as secure as it gets. I've used it for over 3 years. Great service too

As secure as anything else - a must have for e-bay shopping. Sold a WS ticket last year through it and experience was ok, but a bit nail-biting; better for sales you don't need/want the money for immediately.
