Why not sugar or chocolate sauce, I'd probably choose salt over pepper, but I'm not really that into eating bugs.

If you think about it, lobsters and crabs are just like gigantic bugs! Mollusks are not much different than snails and slugs (of course, French folks have always eaten snails). Just because it comes from the ocean, that doesn't make it any less "icky" than creepy-crawlies from the land.
How about garlic and drawn butter, instead of salt and pepper?

Depends on the bug.
Crickets are Delicious breaded and lightly fried.
Ants of course are best dipped in Chocalate.
Cockroaches test best sauteed in lemon butter.
Praying mantis are good raw with a slab of mustard.

I would have to guess pepper. When in doubt, spice it up so hot it won't even make a difference.
Insects are carriers of tape worms and other internal parasites do you may want to cook them well done.

I love bugs too. Except the bees, they sometimes bite my lip. I like grass and shoes too, but my favorite is still milkbones.
