There are people arroused by sexual role playing. There are people who are arroused by sexual pain. There are people who are aroused with pornography. There are people who are arroused by children, (as DISGUSTING as that is). There are even people arroused by animals (demented).

With so many sexual fetishes, why do some believe homosexuals deserve special treatment? Isn't homosexuality just role playing? Isn't it just men arroused by acting like women, and women by acting like men?

The norm and ideal is for one man and one woman who are virgins to marry, make a life commitment to being a family and being open to having and raising children. All of the other things you mention are deviations from that norm, except maybe role playing,, since it would depend on who is playing and what the roles are. I never thought of it that way before, but I guess you could consider homosexuality a kind of fetish, another person of the same sex being the fetish,,,, and a fetish being something not normal that a person is addicted to and can't get aroused without.

Homosexuality is more complicated than just a sexual fetish, and the reasons it's given so much attention are complicated, too.

I think the two main reasons homosexuality is such an issue are:
1) There are lots and lots of homosexuals out there, and they want to be heard, and treated with respect.
2) There are lots and lots of Christians out there, who don't want to hear what the homosexuals want to say.

Because homosexuals don't think about homosexuality like a fetishes but a style of life, that's the way they are, they don't deserve to be treated different I really don't care what everyone wants to do in her/his bed.
they treated differently because people are afraid of the influence they could have on a society.

People who make this kind of claim never think it through. Do you honestly think that both women in a same-sex relationship "act like men"? No! We're women who get aroused by women!

And as it is for straights, gender is only a starting place. I can say I like both men and women. I narrow it down further--I like intelligence, I like original thought, I prefer dark hair, I prefer short people, I like stocky men and skinny women...

Don't you do the same thing--narrow it down? How you narrow things down can become a fetish, but not a gender orientation itself. Big breasts are a very common fetish for straight guys, to give an example.

Why is homophobia condoned more than sexism, racist, or any of the other hatreds that some people preach?

Gay is how God made me, and God doesn't make junk. I am not "role playing" as a woman - I am very masculine and so is my male partner, thanks very much.

Gay people never ask for "special treatment," just equal treatment and justice. Fortunately, there are some Christians who understand this and work towards peace, tolerance and understanding. It is obvious from your question you are not one of these people, so I hope you do not have the gall to call yourself a 'christian.' WWJD?

No. You are judging these folks without knowing anything about them. They are not "acting like" anyone.
