Here is a bigger question, why do they support a draft dodging, coke snorting, alcoholic at all? He led us to the war in the middle east for personal gain. He should be investigated on this charge and many others.

What is the basis for your question? Most all of the people I know that are in the military are conservatives. Seeings how they don't have a choice if they go to fight or not, how do you come up with your statement about them rarely fighting in wars?

The guy who answered with a comment about the herd of sheep is sooooo right on. It's amazing that there are that many, but it looks like 1/2 the population (according to 2004 election) are of this group. Obviously, the rich, but they make up only 1%. Unfortunately for the remaining 99% of the people of the United States that aren't rich, we tend to bow down to rich people, "get on our knees", if you will. We hate hate HATE being poor.
However, I think what we hate MORE is that we don't really feel poor, until we see how rich OTHER people are.
Interestingly enough, we actually feel RICH when we see how poor other countries people are.
SO, my answer to this question is this:
They do so to feel as though they have a purpose in life that will enable them to feel RICH, with being monetarily RICH, and to kiss the butt of the REAL RICH, who may throw them a couple bones to make them happy. (I think it's called a GI Bill????)
