Houston is fine for gays, we had/have? a lesbian on the city council. I would check out the Montrose area first, but you can always live in a super cheap part of town and drive there to party. Austin is great too but it is more expensive. If you don't mind driving you can rent great apartments and homes on the outside of loop 610 for a song compared to what you are used to paying, all my broke friends lived in Pasadena or Texas City. There is also some gay culture on Galveston Island. But if politics are your thing, Montrose is politically very liberal.

Come on over, ur totaly wlecome here. But yeah, Austin is more liberal. They call it the new California, hmmm!! So you'll adjust better there culturally. But Houston has an even lower cost of living then Austin and has a much bigger job market

Houston will accept everybody. They might give you a little s**t but so does every city, even Austin.

Do not move to Houston, the people will run you off. Keep your bear banging, crystal kissing, tree hugging, granola eating, liberal self out in la la land.
