why do people get so offended when you insult a cop or use the word niger?

People insult religions all the time there are no cruel racist jokes against the white man.But if you insult a cop or say niger 45 of the 50 answers you get just say REPORTED!!!!! Why is that?I define niger as scum it can be of any race,religion,or profession.Everybody automaticaly assumes niger means blacks and then it's only offensive if a white man says it.Why?

alright people I know how to spell ******.I do have black friends and regardless to what you may beleave I do not mean it as a racial slur.But I will say chld molester=****** bad cop=****** whether they are black or white or asian I don't care about race.

I have studied my southern history,that is what it is history why can't people just get over it?Webster's book tells us the meaning of a word unless you don't like what it says thats what it means.Just because someone don't like something we have to change it.

I'm sorry, volleyballchick, but the word "******" does not mean an ignorant person, it is what the southern plantation owner got from the word '*****,' which means black in Spanish. This is why African-Americans can call each other "******." But when Caucasians use the word, it becomes an insult because of what their ancestors were doing when they began to use it.

Niger is an African nation. The word you're thinking of - no matter what context you use it in - is offensive to a great many people. It's disrespectful to use it, no matter what you believe it means.

I could say that "Nazi" means "Kentuckian" to me, but that doesn't make it true.

And Black people say it as a way of taking the words power away. Sure they get upset when white folks say it, but that's because when a white man says it, he's not usually saying it as a term of friendship.

The world doesn't revolve around you, and you'll get along with people a lot better when you realize that.

You are right - a word is just that unless you give it power by becoming offended by it.

But it is everyone's right to choose what offends them, and how to react. Your reaction is just as irrational as someone reporting you for using them. If you offend me, I will report you, but I have that right, just as you do.

The definition of the word "******", by definition, is an ignorant person. But the "popular" use of the word is a derogatory term for an African American. People are knowing of this, but continue to use it. They use it knowing full well how people will take it, and take some sort of pleasure in that. When a white person uses the word, they mean it as a cruel and insulting slam against a "black" person. You should realize that, and get over it.

i think white man got a little carried away with the word for a while.
cops are only out there to make a buck , i would be as offended by someone insulting a doctor as iam by someone yelling at a cop for stoping them while going 50 on a school zone, i mean phucksakes obey the law or if you dont at least try not to pretend you are the one done in wrong

because some people have manners and respect for others and they do not feel the need to insult other races, religions,professions,or other associations. Oh and by the way Niger is a place not an insult

I would not truthfully say I am indignant by way of it as I simply discover it style of cheesy. It turns out like an excessively powerful approach to make anybody sound much less knowledgeable. what words mean to you don't matter in a public forum. the history of the word is how it is regarded, and the reason it is a racial slur directed at blacks. i could feel the word chink or **** means banana, but i would probably run into some trouble with the Asian community.

It is spelled "N*gger", and it is offensive because it is what was used to demean an entire race after the civilized world had entirely banished slavery. How can you progress in life if you constantly hear the racial slur that blatlantly prejudges you because of your race. The same goes for other hateful slurs like "Trailor Trash", "Towelhead/Sand N*gger", "Kyke", "Chink", "G-o-o-k", etc. I find all slurs to be offensive.

OK 1st of all...who do you call first when you are in trouble...the cops right??...so we should all show some respect...that's what it is all about anyways isn't it??...people showing respect??...I don't know about you but I just don't like it when people call me a stupid white w***e..so I can imagine that people of any race don't like to be called the N word either...RESPECT for people and for YOURSELF......
