Well, honestly, because it's the biggest site and you can find most people on there. If you want to get in contact with people you haven't seen in years, it's probably the best avenue to search.
I shunned myspace for years but finally fell victim to it and have been contacted by a lot of people that I wouldn't have otherwise found if it wasn't for it. As long as you don't really talk to people you don't know already, it's not really worth it....
