If it does turn out to be the CV joint, just prepare to replace the whole axle. They do NOT make reman'ed axles for the 6, so you will have to buy new unfortunately. Your dealer will want to charge you about $320-$380, but if you go to www.jimclickmazdaparts.com you can get the exact same thing for $240.11. Just an FYI.

Yep. CV(constant velocity) joints. What usually happens is that the boot( a rubbery piece surrounding the axle and holding the lubrication) becomes torn and the oil/grease drains out. It's all downhill from there.

Nothings wrong with your car its just the Clock spring clicking and you dont have to worry about fixing it because it doesnt cause any harm to your car and anyways its $150 to get and new 1 and then instilation fees.. Or it may be something else my mom has a mazda 6 to and she has the same probablem see took it in about 3 times and they didnt find anything soo..... hoped i helped

Listen to desotobrave.I had it happened too. replace the boot if its not too late, if it is replace one joint and the boot on the other side,because its not too far behind the other.

if you hear the popping when you turn left it is the right (passenger) cv joint/axle if you hear it turning right it is the left side
