I am a stand up comic, stage fright is a natural thing, you can't get rid of it, but if you are brave enough to stand in front of everyone 5 seconds after you start you feel no stage fright anymore.

It's the biggest rush. everytime before I go on stage I am telling myself that I am gonna bomb, that mabe I should not be doing this, and you know what, when I am up there, I can be me. And it's over. Once you're there you have no choice but to do your best

You'll be fine, and you'll survive.

Any person that would cause you to laugh or cry don't look at. Tell your friends and family not to look at you or in your eyes while you are singing. I can't look at my friend at church cause she will start laughing. Try to focus on the older people. Like the sweet little old lady or look to the back of the church and don't make eye contact with anyone.Pray and ask Jesus to be with ya and all will be fine. You'll do good.

that underwear wthing is crap - but the underlying idea is good - think of yourself above the rest in the room - they couldn't get up on stage but you are- and everything you sing is golden

there is no way to get rid of the butterflies, and the cold sweat, but embrace your fear and you'll be so amped you'll do great and feel even better when it's all over

basically act like your glad your so nervous, this is the sensation you want - forget confidence, that comes with time, for now drink in the stress like it's youyr favorite beverage, and psych your self up where others would be psyched out

good luck!!

In that instance prayer should help. Sing for Jesus and no one else. If this were a frequent thing I believe you would get used to it and the fright would lessen each time.

Honestly, you have to perform and sing in front of people until you feel comfortable. Sing around the house, in front of family, in the car, in the shower, wherever. Last but not least, when you get on stage, just do it. Don't think about it too much. Good luck. I hope your performance goes well.

Just go out there and do it. It helps if you practice in front of a few people the day before, maybe. Ask some friends over (you may have to bribe them, so be prepared).

Once you get started, though, you'll be fine. It's all terror and nausea beforehand, but afterwards it's all good.

just get up there and give it your all. I sang for the first time last sunday, I sang "I Could Sing Of Your Love Forever" . I was shaking the whole time. What church do you attend? I attend United Pentecostal Church.

Practice, Practice, Practice, even in your head if you have too. Your brain is unable to distinguish between fantasy and reality, therefore if you practice singing in your head, it will only serve to help you.

In addition, if you can get in the sanctuary and practice before the service, you will also be more comfortable.

Lastly, pray. You are using your instrument for God's glory....be a willing vessel and not a vocal ego and you will be blessed!

Pretend the audience isn't there; instead of looking at the people, look right above their heads. They will see you as looking at them, but you won't be distracted by their faces. Since you are singing a religious song -- don't sing it to the people, sing it to the Lord.
