The best drafting position to have in a 10 player league would be 3rd this year and I'll tell you why.

If you're drafting third, you're assured that you'll get at least one of the big 3: Shaun Alexander, Larry Johnson and Ladainian Tomlinson. By getting one of these guys, you've assured yourself of at least one player who can carry you're team through the rigors of the fantasy season. This also allows you to concentrate on other positions because you've got the guy who's going to score at least one touchdown a game.

For your next pick, you could get a really good wide receiver such as Marvin Harrison. And from there, you can choose the best available players.

Here's how my team drafted in the third spot.

QB: Trent Green, Billy Volek
RB: Ladainian Tomlinson, Tatum Bell, Thomas Jones, Ron Dayne
WR: Marvin Harrison, Hines Ward, Eddie Kennison, Drew Bennett
TE: Jeremy Shockey, Jermaine Wiggins
D: Indianapolis, Washington
K: Adam Vinatieri

Hope that helps.

you want to be in the top 3 - there's a pretty big drop-off after LJ, Shaun, and LT. In a 12-team league, it's not really bad to be picking 11 or 12; but the way the talent is dispersed this year, I would not want to be picking #10 in a ten team draft.

This year I would say third because the top 3 running backs are pretty equal and you would pick before the other 2 in the next round. I almost said fourth and include P. Manning in the list but I hate picking a QB in the !st round.

This year, the best spot is #3. You get either LJ, Alexander or LT and in the 2nd round, you get the 18th pick overall.

In general, this year, you are better off being in the top 3 or the bottom 2.

the best postition is in the top 5 because you have a choice of whats left over between the 4 running backs (Alexander, Barber, LJ, LT) and quarterback Peyton Manning (who should throw for 35 touchdowns)

i would say 10 because u get 2 take two people (and these people r still studs) but when ur 1st u get a big stud but u wont have a big selection when it comes back down...so take my advice i made the playoffs and almost won my league last year cause i had the last pick.....(the benefits of picking 2 people in a row r great instead of beiong in the middle)
