i live the midwest ,but maybe its just michigan and the rest of the midwest is doing great

You don't have to look far. I don't know where you live, but West Michigan's economy is good. The unemployment rate is low (around 5%, even less in some area). The population is growing fast and there is construction everywhere. Downtown Grand Rapids has a bunch of buildings going up, including a prestigious JW Marriot hotel.

Of course, if you live on the east side, I can see why you are complaining...

Red states...and I kid you not. The states with the cheapest housing, highest hiring rate, and high standard of living are in the mid-west...though massachussets (one of the few blue states doing good) is doing ok as well oh and I forgot to mention conneticut..

I dunno about states, but Alberta is over booming. Need more workers; my house just went up 70% in value.
