If Bigfoot does exists it is believed it would be in the primate family , possibly a Gigantopithecus and that man and the creature may have coexisted and interacted in the past. If a Bigfoot exists now it would most probably be a descendant of Gigantopithecus. I've provided a link to more information including a picture. The picture appears to resemble sighting descriptions of Bigfoot.

Sasquatch or bigfoot do not exist. If they did actually exist then they would be a different branch of the primate family somewhat closer to humans than chimpanzees. These would probably be classed as homonids which just means closer to human than ape.

This would certainly be related to other australopithecenes because of the upright posture. Again, if it actually existed, it could a relative of Australopithecus Africanus, or perhaps Robustus. This would put it in the genus Paranthropus. There have been some who have suggested Gigantopithecus but this was a true gorilla and did not have upright posture.

Just to be clear. This would not be an ancestor of ours or a descendent. It would be a descendent of one our distant ancestors. As far as we know, that branch of the family tree all became extinct.

Its another primate, an evolutionary cousin, like the chimpanzee or orangutan. We didn't descend from them, but evolved together.
