What specifically is there on the envelope or DVD that tells tells them it's me? If it is a barcode how do I decode it to read whatever data it contains?

There's a barcode on the sleeve identifying the disk and they know which disk they sent to you. You would have to have some kind of barcode scanner to read it.

The barcode is in the window on the envelope and they know what they sent to whom. You have an account number as well, remember?

It's definitely the barcode. Companies make their own barcodes, you probably won't be able to decode it.
