Personally since I am one I think we're just average.OH and to everyone who thinks it doesn't take hard work to be a cheerleader you're wrong. We run 12 laps every practice then workout for two hours afterwords with a 3 min. break. We have to stay healthy. We have nice people on our cheer-leading squad even a preacher's daughter. We don't cheer just to be hoeish we cheer because it's a fun way to stay in shape. Also we aren't preppy because we dress in jeans in a t-shirt n tennis shoes evry day. We don't even get our nails done n we only get our hair done once a month. Thanks!U asked for my opinion u got it.

You people are unbelievable. Cheerleading is a very complicated SPORT that demands the utmost discipline and dedication. Those who believe the stereotypes are close-minded and judgemental. The bitterness contained in the previous answers stems from something, and it doesn't have anything to do with Cheerleading. I think the answers would have been very different had the question been about a soccer or swim team. However, because it is about a group of beautiful, talented, exuberant women they are bitchy, slutty sorority girls. I hope one day you can open your minds to the fact that, even if its not something you would participate in, cheerleaders work hard and care about what they do.

See? Not all of us are airheads who cant form a sentence!

I think Cheerleaders could be alright if they got their freakin head out of the clouds and for once didnt look down on everyone because lets face it by the time you graduate half of those "better than everyone else people" are living in some run down apartment building with six kids and living off of welfare!Thats how I see it anyways!

Actually that is just another stereotype... like DUMB BLONDES. And we both know they aren't true. I tried out for cheerleading in 7th and 8th grade. I did basketball football and wrestling. I wanted to see if I would make it and i did. But that ship has sailed. I am sick of it. It is sooo boring. Some cheerleaders are snobs and some are really nice(like me!) JUST KIDDING!! :) I guess I am trying to tell you that not all cheerleaders are royal bi*****! Just give them a chance! =)

At my university, Brigham Young University, we have a very good cheerleading team. They participate in competitions and won the nationals many times. They are very well prepared and excellent dancers and their dancing background includes ballet, jazz, tap, character and many other. I admire them for their very hard work. I went to one of their performances and they kept us enterntained and happy the whole show. They were amazing.

Try doing a REAL sport instead of just being eye candy for the pedephiles. If you compete, fine, but to just do football games and all that is crap! Get on the field instead of standing on the sidelines.
