The Time Machine book, The Time Machine original movie, or The Time Machine 2001 remake. I have a personal opinion on which of the 3 is best. But they are reguardlessly both great movies and a great book.

While the adage that the book is better usually rings true, there are exceptions.

The book was decent but incredibly dry. The original movie was not bad for its time (1960), but the remake (2002) took several liberties in order to give it a modern flair and draw more people to the theaters.

I would have to say that the remake was better regarding overall story development (no offense to H.G. Wells), but the book was revolutionary in its concept and scientific presentation. Overall though, none of the three options listed really stand out as being as the supreme best.

That being said, the Time Machine story franchise has led to better books and better movies than those bearing the name of the Wellsian classic.

Are you an idiot the newest movie sucked. Besides how does saying the book adaptation is better than its film counterpart make anyone sound intelligent? The reason that statement is so often used is because when a book is established enough on its own as a good story it will always gather some amount of followers especially in the case of a book that is successful enough to get a film adaptation. the fact of the matter is when the basic story of a book is forced to under go the transition from a story medium that utilizes most the personal conflict of its Central characters, (such as a novel) to a medium that focuses much less on inner development and More on visual story,(such as film) the story is bound to undergo some type of metamorphose now with that in mind try to understand how those who are among the population who have read and enjoyed a book that has been adapted to the screen must feel do you think they are more likely to stay loyal to the story they fell in love with originally or so studio's retelling? that's why people most often say the book was better...
