WHAT DID YOUR DOCTOR SAY?!? YOU SHOULD BE ASKING YOUR DOCTOR, NOT COMPLETE STRANGERS. DON'T HAVE AN APPOINTMENT UNTIL NEXT WEEK? WAIT UNTIL YOUR APPOINTMENT. I DON'T KNOW YOUR PREVIOUS OR CURRENT HEALTH CONDITIONS.

my doctor told me that anything I did before pregnancy, was fine to do during pregnancy. with some exceptions like riding horses and big things like that.
You should ALWAYS check with your doctor before you do anything new when pregnant,
but I ran up until my 6th month with both my kids, after 6 months my muscles started to get tender and I stopped.
You should not be exercising to lose weight while pregnant, just to stay healthy, and active, you don't need to gain 50 pounds, the average mother should gain between 20 and 35 pounds.

There are tons of pregnancy videos out there, to help you stay in shape.
Just don't do anything to strain yourself, you are not training for the Olympics.
Try yoga, it makes you feel great, and it doesn't get hard til your belly gets big.
Also water aerobics, no strain at all, some hospitals have programs for expectant mothers. You should ask your doctor if any in your area do.
REMEMBER~~~pregnancy is a condition, NOT a terminal illness.
The better shape the mother is in during labor, the easier the labor will be, just FYI.

EXERCISE!!!!!!!!!!!! it's not only good for your body and the baby, but it is good for your labor. Talk to the doc though and find out what heart rate is the max for you and abide by it....at 7 months I was jogging at the gym holding my belly so it would stop bouncing and to help keep from the odd stares. Another good thing to remember is that muscle burns fat even at rest, so weight lift arms and legs so that when you bing on fatty foods your body will burn them. Oh yeah, your baby will tell you if she doesn't like it when you exercise, so stop if you don't feel well...but cardio is good for you and the baby.

Exercising is fine while pregnant as long as you don't overdo it or have any medical conditions. Make sure you drink enough water and don't overheat. Also, try to minimize bouncy movements, low-impact exercise is best. You are also supposed to keep your heart rate below 150 and rest if you start feeling light-headed or dizzy. Let your doctor make the call, but until then, you should be fine.

I've read that exercising is fine as long as you don't add anything...and lighten up a bit on your regular routine. I would try some classes specifically designed for pregnant women, yoga, water exr., stuff like that because they'll know you can't push it too much but you'll be staying in shape.

i am 10 weeks and have been walking about 5km a day - that is what i did before anyway - i will do it until it becomes too uncomfortable. I am not really looking forward to the weight gain either........already i have noticed myself getting hungy a lot - i am trying to eat well so that i dont put on weight unnecessarily.....

best wishes to you

There are MANY pregnancies sites out there that will tell you exactly what you can and can not do as far as exercising goes. Your baby is more resilient than you think! try babycenter.com
To me, swimming may be the best thing to do for the time being.

Light things are ok. Swimming is a wonderful one. But heavey lifting is going to be out for now. Walking is another good one. Your doctor will know better though.

you're supposed to gain weight, cuz you're growing another person inside you, so chill out. you've got plenty of time to freak out once the baby is out of you. 35 lbs is normal, and people do exercise while pregnant, just do it carefully. walk and maybe lift some weights, but nothing strenuous.

I excerised (not a lot) during both my pregnancies.

Unless your Doctor tells you other wise it is safe. Make sure you take your time while you are excerising and not over doing it.

If you feel even a slight cramp then stop immediately and rest.

My doctor said exercise was good as long as it was light.... like walking instead of running. Don't do anything that really causes you to strain. I wouldn't lift weights or do treadmill running. Swimming is REALLY good.
