I have never had one. But I have heard good things. And When i buy a laptop I'm sure it will be a dell one. Some people swear by their durability and reliability. They are also quite stylish.

I operate a Dell Inspiron 9300, I have had to replace the screen, the hard drive, and the mother board. I have had the unit for less than a year.

Make sure you purchase any and all warranty service you can.

With perfered service I do get to speak to someone fairly fast, but most don't speak English very well. But they try to be very helpful ( almost to the point of being anoying trying to be nice)

They try and talk me though most of the repair and only send a on site service after I really get angry.

But after having to IBM computers, I guess they are as good as any of them. The bigest issue is if you use it for long periods of time, and actually carry it with you all the time.

I was told basicly most all of them will cause problems if they are used all the time and carried in a car or truck and used in them at almost 18 hours a day.

I love my Dell laptop, but 2 keys have popped off and won't stay on. This is bothersome when typing.

I've heard it's a common problem with Dells, too. Mine is 3 years old, this coming Christmas.

I've heard that people have had bad luck with Dell. Once you buy their product they are hard to get a hold of for customer support. So to remedy that problem I don't buy Dell. I usually only buy Compac, but last year I bought a gateway computer. I'm thinking about buying another one.

Yeah :( I faced (still its not solved) the same issue.... Customer care guys take more than a hour discussing about our complaint and they just replace every parts.
I am using Inspiron N5050 and I had issues with the laptop since I bought it. I have had replaced
1) Palm rest (Touchpad) 3 times.
2) Mother Board once.
3) Battery 2 times.
4) Adapter 2 times.
5) DC pin 2 times.
and Still I am facing the same problem... in just 9 months since I bought this Laptop. I guess

I've had an Inspiron 6000 for about a year now. I love it and so far no problems.

Oh, and the screen going dim when you unplug the cord, just hold the Fn key while pressing the Up arrow or down to adjust the brightness

Historically, our experiences here at work have been bad with Dell Inspirons.

However, it has been a few years since we've dealt with them, so they may have improved their arcitecture some. They frequently had issues with their monitors and it was always pricey to have them restored.

We just got our Dell a little over a year ago...I LOVE it. No problems at all. Only complaint I have is the darn wireless mouse that keeps running out of juice and no one remembers to recharge it! lol

I have a dell desktop, and I'm happy with it. My roommate has a laptop, it works, fine, but she's had past issues with their customer service.

Do you like the blue screen of death? Sorry to be so negative but I've spent $750 on labor reviving our Dell but my daughter's HP has never had a problem.
