Why do we really need to know that? It doesn't seem very important to me.

A lot of people pay attention to the moon phases. The moon phase is connected to tides, among other things.

It's not important to everyone...but then neither are the xian, british, or muslim holidays on many calendars, but you see them there too.
I like knowing the phase of the moon...what kind of energy is out there...
...my motorcycle riding club rides on the friday nearest the Full Moon each month (no particular reason except it's pretty to look up and see a full moon) so it's handy to have the moon phase on my calendar so I don't have to look it up...some calendars I have don't show it...
There are still people who do things according to the phase of the moon...and of course in the past planting cycles and such were monitored by the turn of the moon...women's menstrual cycles are similar to the duration of a moon cycle (hence they used to be called her "moon time")...
I dig Luna...in all her phases...

There are many people who follow Lunar calendar. For them it is important to know when is a full moon or a no moon. Also for example, you could check when it is full moon and decide to take a walk in a big ground or near beach! How good that will be.

Most old civilations used the phases of the moons as a type of calender. So if you happen to belong to one of those anchient civilations, you can just look at the page to know what phase you are in.

I find it helpful to know. I'm a teacher's assistant. The kids are nuts on the full moon. I've heard the same from CNA's and cops.
