What's wrong with the right wing? LOL! how much time do you have? To me, the right wingers seem to be insecure. They need to have every one agree with them all the time, to tell them they're right . Anyone who doesn't, well, something must be wrong with them, can't they see "we're" always right? What a load of hooey! People are not infalable, and just because they're in power, doesn't mean that we have to trust everything they say. Quite the contrary, in fact. As part of a democracy, it is the people's job to monitor the government, to ensure they are appropriately representing the will of the people. if not, then to do something about it. I'm sure Right wing people as individuals are good people, who care about the world and their neighbours, but as a whole they are closed minded petty people who need a good swift kick in the a**. That's what wrong with them. :)

Her son died in order to protect her rights to free speech, free thought, and free everything else, and this is the most valuable thing that America offers. I disagree with MANY of the things that this country does, but I LOVE being a citizen of this country simply becuase I can disagree and voice my disagreement, and for as long as that right exists, there is a chance that this country will become the place it promises to be IN the Constitution. The freedom to speak out againt a perceived wrong is ALSO the freedom to fix it, and anyone, Right or Left wing or Moderate would be doing themselves an immense favor if they respected that.

How does Sheehan losing her son have anything to do with her being a Left Wing conspirator? One doesn't negate the other? I get very tired of "tragedy pimps" like her hiding behind a personal tragedy that has happened to them. Somehow they think that makes them immune to criticism. Sorry, it doesn't. When you are wrong...you are wrong. Sheehan can say whatever she likes...that's called freedom of speech. But she is not immune to criticism...that too is freedom of speech.

This woman is using the death of her son for 15 minutes of Fame. She can utilize her 1st amendment all she wants and I have the 1st amendment to criticize her agenda. She & you do not have the right NOT to be offended. If you are offended - then it is a personal problem. For every idiot Sheehan there are 10 real american mothers that don't politicize thier loss. She can sayall she wants - she just can't complain when critized or offended.

CAPITAL, n. The seat of misgovernment. That which provides the fire, the pot, the dinner, the table and the knife and fork for the anarchist; the part of the repast that himself supplies is the disgrace before meat.
Ambrose Bierce (1842-1914)

"But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security."

This is quoted from the American Declaration of Independence.

The notion that a radical is one who hates his country is naïve and usually idiotic. He is, more likely, one who likes his country more than the rest of us, and is thus more disturbed than the rest of us when he sees it debauched. He is not a bad citizen turning to crime; he is a good citizen driven to despair.
H. L. Mencken

We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. When the loyal opposition dies, I think the soul of America dies with it.
Edward R. Murrow

To announce that there must be no criticism of the president, or that we are to stand by the president right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public.
Theodore Roosevelt

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Edmund Burke 1729-1797

My issue with Ms Sheehan is that she calls the people who killed her son "freedom fighters". That means she is spitting all over the memory of her son, by praising those who killed him. She's a disgrace.
The insurgents who killed Ms Sheehan's son are NOT fighting for their freedom. They are fighting to prevent the democracy in Iraq from being formed. Most insurgents are NOT Iraqi.
You know what I call a group of people who don't care if they're killing their own people if it means killing just one American? COWARDS!
PS It's "dissent" not descent. To descend means to go down.

the right to DISSENT is one everyone has. there is nothing wrong with that. being your own person is preferred, but you also have the right to be a mouthpiece for the left wing. who do you think writes her speeches? who do you think pays for her flights around the united states and the world? the left is using her and her son's honorable death to try to throw stones at the current administration. doesn't matter much though, she's last month's news. her son sounds very honorable though.

I think when people lose their husbands, sons, brothers, etc. they have the right to ask for any frickin thing they want and it should be granted. There is another woman who's sons name is on a T-Shirt against the war and she wants it off.....whoever is in charge of this should take her son's name off. It was her son....so it's her call.

I am very much against this war but I salute the young men who are fighting in it.

She did loose her only son, but he chose to fight. I wonder what he has to say about her calling the people that killed him "freedom fighters"?

You have the right to say what you wish, but some people should be smart and think about what they are saying. Yes we have freedom of speech but when people criticize the war it only makes our enemy strong.
Don't believe me? just read the text from any of Bin Laden or Al Zarhiwri's statements they release. They mention people like you and the comments you make and turn that around to their advantage.

Bin Laden's own words

"But what has led me to speak is the repeated words of deception by your president Bush, in his interpretation of the results of public opinion polls among you, which showed that the overwhelming majority of your public wants to withdraw the forces from Iraq – but (Bush) opposed this and said that withdrawing the forces would convey the wrong message to the adversaries, and that it is preferable for us to fight them on their soil, rather than for them to fight us on our soil.

My answer to these words of deception is: The war in Iraq is raging without cessation, and the (military) operations in Afghanistan are constantly escalating - to our advantage, Allah be praised. The Pentagon figures indicate a rise in the number of your dead and wounded, in addition to the huge material damage."
