Hell know! Life is full of misfortune and somebodies self-esteem or lack of is hardly a misfortune you are supposed to fix. If you say what you mean and mean what you say, stick with it. Remember this isn't a popularity contest, this is an interesting, entertaining way to spend time away from work for a minute.

That depends on how much effort you put into making your answer non-offensive. I may give answers that I "know" the asker doesn't want to hear, but for the most part I also try to simply present my thoughts and not say anything that could be construed as an attack on the asker personally. If you're sufficiently certain you did that, then it's their problem and not yours.
If, on the other hand, you at some point in your answer accused the asker of being stupid, or being gay, or being doomed to hell upon death, then you probably do owe them an apology for being rude to them. None of those things are ever helpful answers.
And then, of course, there's always the possibility that you really don't care whether you offended the person or not, though I doubt in that case you'd even be asking this question. I'll admit to having had one of those recently.

If you insulted the person on purpose, then I think you have a right to your opinion, however you could be a little more tactful with your words. However, if you intentionally offended someone then you should apologize if you are trully sorry.

It's always nice to apologize if you've offended someone or caused them hurt. Try to get some good karma back.

You may have not realized you were being offensive, but then again, the other person could be overly sensitive. Have someone objective read your post, then if they think they would find it offensive, it never hurts to apologize. Only good can come of it.

I would never be upset by how I answered someones question. If you feel that you answered the question by how you feel and to the best of your ability then I wouldn't worry about how the person who asked it unless you used profanity or said something insulting.Your So...lucky no-one has answered any of my questions!!!!!

Definitelly not, I think we all pose the questions for the honest answers, and sometimes honesty hurts, they will get over it. I know I had to a couple of times, but learned from it

Was it an ignorant answer? Perhaps you should.
If not, then why bother? You can't please everyone all the time. You're going to have to learn what you're willing to stand by and be mature enough to accept if and when you've made a mistake.

If it makes you feel better...not everybody is going to like what we have to say...they put out the question which is taking a risk...if you meant what you said..so be it..
