I would expect a baby to come out of your vagina.

That's just me though.

Expect more dilation. You have to be 10 before you can deliver. Some people stay at 1-2 cm for weeks. Some don't. Each woman is different. I wouldn't take any long trips or strain myself. If you give birth now, that would be fine. You have passed 36 wks and you are close to 40 wks which is the normal term of pregnancy. Relax and get ready to be a mommy. Get some sleep. Prepare the baby's area. Walk as much as you can. It is supposed to make delivery less painful. If you want to jar the baby into making an entrance and you've had a normal, uncomplicated pregnancy with no bleeding or other problems, have sex with your husband or significant other. I did that with my husband one morning when I was 38 weeks and our daughter was born by that evening around 4pm. Your mucus plug might come out. It's like jelly and you'll know it when you see it. Your water might break. That is when the amniotic fluid starts leaking out. It could trickle or come out steadily like urine. Consult your physician in any case. Congratulations on your soon to be new addition. May God bless you and yours.

your last good nights sleep for about two years. My first labor was kinda like period cramps for a long while. Things don't usually get really intense like what you see in the movies until just before the child is born so try not to panic. Second labor my mom was there and so freaked out at the end of the bed that I was laughing as my son was born. Both were home births so a hospital might be different. If I were you I would rest and freeze all the leftovers you can because otherwise you might have to eat husbands cooking. (eeeek!)

I would expect you could still have quite a wait. You can stay dilated for multiple weeks with no labor. On the other hand, dilating is much better than not dilating. I wish you a quick and easy labor and a happy and healthy baby!

Start pushing!!! JK Sorry, :) Well start walking, going on the swings at park, help it along I suppose. I was dilated to 4cm for a few weeks before I had my boy, but that doesn't mean anything. Everyone is different. I did everything I could to go into labor with him. Bumpy car rides (thanks to my husbands 4X4) swinging, always gave me contractions, walks with my other child and husband. It's gonna start soon!!! Ooh I bet you're so excited! There is a couple of things that will happen to let you know it's getting started, you'll drop-it's like feeling like you can actually breath again, but you'll have to pee a lot again (blah) and you'll lose your mucus plug, this doesn't always happen and when it does you may not notice. I lost mine the day before my daughter but never noticed it with my son. Good luck!!! Hooray for you and your new baby!!!!

At 38 weeks I was 1 cm dialated...at 41 weeks, I was 1 cm dialated....9 hours into my labor I was 1.5 cm...everyone is different....but dialation means that your body is getting ready...DO YOUR KEGELS, they seriously help (I did about 300-400 a day and I didnt tear at all during my labor)....WALK, that also helps get your body ready...I was walking all over the place and though it didn't help push my labor along, I hit 10 cm and pushed my daughter out (after birth and all) in 20 mins. It was so great that I was seriously ready to get pregnant immediatly, but decided to wait until my husband got some work goals inorder so that his military career would prosper.

GOOD LUCK!

This means you could give birth tonight or in three weeks. Dialation doesn't have a great relation to your time of delivery. Apparently, some women can walk around four cm dilated for a week or so. I believe I was 2cm for a week before giving birth.
Just be sure to have all your (and your husband's) bags packed and pray for a speedy delivery.

I was 3 cm dilated for 3 weeks before delivery. I found I had a lot of braxton hicks though!

Congrats and good luck!

you can expect that the baby may come at any moment, OR you may just stay dilated for a few more weeks before the baby decides to make its entrance.

Take it easy. Stay relaxed. Either way, you will be meeting your little one very soon.

Congrats!

Just hope you keep dilating so the baby will pop right out.
Good luck on labor.

Shouldnt you be in well being center?? one million extra cm and your in energetic labour, and the final 5cms can open very immediately. I dont think of you should stroll a mile, cos in case you place your self into energetic labour you would be able to desire to be waiting to stroll that mile decrease back!! perform a little situation-free issues at homestead, attempt bouncing around on a well being center ball, or strolling stairs. intercourse does paintings, and would definetly convey issues on in view that your 4cms already.
