What is the best way to find a job in a different country?

I want to live abroad for a while - but I want to be stable. What is the best way to go about job seeking before you actually make the move? My workplace now is only based in America, so I can't get any help there - any suggestions? Anyone ever done this?

Europe is your best bet - the UK probably. We speak English. If you have a skill you will probably get a work permit - without too much trouble. Loads of websites. Yahoo jobs on the UK website.
